Go down the steps from either end, and you soon realise that this place is something special.
A dark, dingy pub awaits you.
Drinks are not the cheapest, £2.60 per pint of Strongbow, but there is a good selection, and this place definately has atmosphere.

A mixture of rockers and alternative crowd make up the clientelle. There is a good jukebox to provide entertainment to all types too.

Staff were friendly and there was a warm atmosphere.

It’s a great pub with a traditional field right in the middle of manchester. It had a good selection of beers and bottled drinks and the food was pretty darn good and it’s not just your normal boring pub menu with things such as Muscles, potted shrimp, goats cheese tartlets and a variety of lovely salads and wraps on there.

The popular Rock Kitchen has now gone saturday at MMSU, and they offer two rooms of music and loads of drinks offers (it's housed in a student union, so its bound to be cheap). Going weekly has meant a look at the music policy and they now offer live bands as well as deejays. Room One plays nu metal, thrash, alternative rock and the odd hip hop crossover. Whilst the second room (dubbed the Oldies Room) plays classic rock, along the lines of Meatloaf, Metallica, Motorhead.
